Niigata Diesel – HX series medium-speed diesel engine

Long-selling HX series has led Japan’s medium-speed diesel engine market in the marine industries. So many engines are proudly operated and supported by a wide range of customers.
Structure of the engine is greatly simplified due to the intake air chamber, LO main pipes and CW main pipes being incorporated into the overhead type cylinder block, with an air cooler being directly connected to the side of the cylinder block.
Compact design provides low noise and vibration levels and a reduction in the number of components, making maintenance easy and reasonable.
Engine models with air cooler located on the side of the cylinder block: 19HX, 22HX, 25HX, 26HLX, 28HX, 34HX.
Dual Fuel Engine

Natural gas burns much more cleanly than petroleum fuel, which is why there is growing interest in the marine sector.
We have successfully delivered the world’s first 4-stroke dual fuel engine for fixed pitch propeller directly coupled to an LNG-powered harbor tug. It offers high dynamic load following capacity in gas mode, equivalent in diesel mode for tugboat operation and safe redundancy by switching instantly between gas and diesel modes.
